Conchita Hernández Legorreta
Conchita was born in Mexico and raised in California. She advocates for the rights of blind children and their families in school systems across the United States and abroad. She holds a doctorate in Special Education from George Washington University and serves on the National Board for Education Sciences. She also founded METAS, a nonprofit training educators in Latin America, and co-founded the National Coalition of Latinxs with Disabilities to advance disability inclusion and policy.
